Ploutos Help

Getting Started

New here? Start with the path that matches whether you are exploring, importing history, or setting up live sync.

In a hurry?

  1. Sign in.
  2. Open Manage accounts and confirm the right Ploutos account is selected.
  3. Import CSV if you already have history, or Log trade for a one-off.
  4. Open Journal and click into a trade to start reviewing.

That is the whole happy path. The rest of this page is the why behind each step, for when you have five more minutes.

Why CSV first beats live sync first

Most first sessions go better if you do not start with live sync.

If you already have history, bring that in first. Ploutos gets much easier to judge once the journal is showing your trades instead of an empty shell.

Pick the path that matches where you are

Usually you are in one of these situations:

  • you are just trying to understand the product
  • you already have CSV exports and want a quick honest test
  • you want live sync right away

Those are not the same starting point, and treating them the same is where people lose time.

The best first run for most traders

  1. Sign in.
  2. Open Manage accounts.
  3. Make sure you are in the right Ploutos account.
  4. Use Import CSV if you already have history.
  5. Open Journal.
  6. Review a few grouped trades before you worry about perfect setup.

That order is deliberate. It lets you answer the real question first: does the review workflow make sense for how you trade?

If you just want to look around

Use the demo workspace.

The demo is good for understanding:

  • how the dashboard is laid out
  • how grouped trades behave
  • what the trade review panel feels like

The demo is not there to prove your live setup is finished. It is only there to stop the product from feeling abstract on day one.

If you already have history

Start with Import CSV.

That is usually the cleanest first test because it gives you real trades without forcing you to debug broker credentials first. If the journal does not feel useful after a clean CSV import, live sync is not going to fix that.

Use Log trade for the occasional trade that does not live in an export yet. Do not use it to rebuild months of broker history by hand.

If you want live sync

Go into Manage Connections only after you know which Ploutos account should own the data.

That matters more than people expect. A connection can work technically and still be set up in the wrong workspace. The result is a journal that looks wrong even though the sync itself succeeded.

What a good first day looks like

By the end of a good first session, you should be able to:

  • see real trades in Journal
  • open a grouped trade and add a note or tag
  • understand the difference between dashboard view and Trades
  • know whether you need Pro for your next step or not

You do not need everything polished on day one. You just need enough data in the product that the review flow becomes real.

Common first-day mistakes

  • importing into the wrong Ploutos account
  • trying to create a live connection inside the demo workspace
  • judging the dashboard before any real trades are loaded
  • starting the trial before you even know whether the journal is useful
