Charts and Screenshots

Use chart previews and uploaded trade images as context without mistaking them for the trade record.

Charts and screenshots are visual context for review. They are not the trade record itself.

The ledger row, P&L, time window, strategy, tags, and notes are still the durable journal data. The chart preview and uploaded image help you remember what the market looked like when you made the decision.

Chart previews

When a trade opens in the review panel, Ploutos tries to prepare a chart preview for that trade.

The preview uses compatible market candles when Ploutos can resolve the symbol and find a window that matches the trade time and prices closely enough.

If the candles are missing or do not line up with the trade, Ploutos shows an unavailable chart state instead of drawing a misleading preview.

Why a preview can be unavailable

Common reasons:

  • the market is custom or not recognized
  • the symbol does not have compatible market-data coverage
  • the trade is too old for the available intraday candles
  • the broker's reconstructed trade price does not sit inside the nearest candle range
  • the market was closed or thinly quoted around the recorded time
  • the trade is open and only a current or nearby candle can be used for context

An unavailable preview does not automatically mean the trade is broken.

Uploaded trade images

Uploaded images are the reliable place for your own visual record.

Use them for:

  • broker screenshots
  • chart screenshots
  • phone photos of a trade idea
  • marked-up images from another charting tool

Ploutos accepts PNG, JPG, and WebP images up to 5 MB.

Chart preview versus uploaded image

Use the chart preview when you want quick market context from the trade window.

Use an uploaded image when the visual setup matters and you already have the exact screenshot you trust.

They solve different problems:

  • chart preview: quick reference, dependent on market-data coverage
  • uploaded image: your own source image, attached to the trade

If a chart preview is unavailable but you uploaded a screenshot, keep reviewing from the screenshot.

Sharing a trade chart snapshot

The trade preview has a snapshot action. It creates an image of the visible preview card so you can copy it, download it, or share it through supported share targets.

That snapshot is for communication. It does not replace the saved trade image attached to the journal record.

What not to assume

Do not assume:

  • every supported market will always have a chart preview
  • a missing chart means the trade import failed
  • an uploaded screenshot proves the P&L or market fields are correct
  • the chart preview is a broker-confirmed execution record

Use visual context to support review, not to override the trade data without checking it.
